This guide explains how to add extra license plate combinations to FiveM Supply vehicles.
Some FiveM Supply vehicles support multiple license plate combinations by default. If a product description includes the text Multiple License Plate Combinations, you can add even more combinations yourself.
If this is not mentioned in the product description, you can still check the .ytd file. If the license plate texture is named fisu_sign_1, you can usually still add more license plate combinations manually.
Important: Always make a backup of the original files before editing them.
📘 How do I know if my vehicle supports this? #
There are two ways to check:
- the product description says Multiple License Plate Combinations
- the
.ytdfile contains license plate textures named like:fisu_sign_1fisu_sign_2fisu_sign_3fisu_sign_4
If the .ytd already contains these textures, you can create additional ones yourself.
If the .ytd contains at least fisu_sign_1, there is a good chance you can manually add more combinations.
🧰 What do you need? #
Before you start, make sure you have the following:
Recommended image setting:
- DXT5
📝 Step-by-Step Guide #
1. Open the vehicle YTD in OpenIV #
Open OpenIV and go to the vehicle resource you want to edit.
Find the .ytd file of the vehicle and open it.
Inside the .ytd, look for the license plate textures.
These are usually named like:
fisu_sign_1
fisu_sign_2
fisu_sign_3
fisu_sign_4
2. Check the existing plate textures #
If the vehicle already contains textures from fisu_sign_1 up to fisu_sign_4, you can copy one of these textures and create a new one.
For example:
- copy
fisu_sign_4 - rename it to
fisu_sign_5
You can then edit that new texture to create your desired license plate combination.
3. Create additional plate textures #
You can continue this process by adding more textures with the correct naming structure.
Examples:
fisu_sign_5
fisu_sign_6
fisu_sign_7
Make sure the numbering stays consistent and does not skip in a confusing way.
Important: The maximum supported amount is 25 textures.
That means you can go up to:
fisu_sign_25
🎨 How to edit the plate texture #
After you have chosen a texture to copy, export it from OpenIV and edit it in your preferred image editing software.
You can then change the plate text to your desired new license plate combination.
Plate generator tools #
You can use the following generators to create new plate combinations:
Dutch license plate generatorhttp://got.sa007.nl/kenteken/
European license plate generatorhttps://www.licenseplates.tv/european-plates/
General license plate generatorhttps://www.licenseplates.tv/?srsltid=AfmBOorCD_63iVE5tGIiui-rPS6Pwo8o1z0UqphA-m3_ZgazbPJSN57Q
📤 How to export and import the files with OpenIV #
Exporting a texture #
- Open the
.ytdin OpenIV - Select the texture you want to use, for example
fisu_sign_4 - Click Export selected
- Save the texture to a folder on your computer
Example:
Documents\FiveM_Plates
Editing the texture #
Open the exported texture in your image editing program and change the plate to the desired combination.
Recommended image setting:
- DXT5
This is usually a good balance between quality and file size.
Importing the edited texture back into OpenIV #
Once your edited texture is ready:
- Go back to OpenIV
- Open the same
.ytdfile - Turn on Edit Mode
- Use the Import button
- Select your edited texture
- Save the
.ytd
If you are creating an additional plate texture, make sure it is imported with the correct name, such as:
fisu_sign_5
🏷️ Example workflow #
Here is a simple example:
- the vehicle already has
fisu_sign_1tofisu_sign_4 - you want to add a fifth plate
- export
fisu_sign_4 - edit the plate text in your image editor
- save the file with recommended settings such as DXT5
- import it back into the
.ytd - rename it to
fisu_sign_5
The vehicle will then have an additional license plate combination available.
⚠️ Important Notes #
- always keep the naming structure correct
- always make a backup before editing
- do not go above
fisu_sign_25 - use DXT5 as the recommended image setting
- make sure the texture is added to the correct
.ytd
🧯 Troubleshooting #
My new license plate does not show up #
Make sure that:
- the texture name is correct
- the texture was imported into the correct
.ytd - the naming format follows
fisu_sign_x - the texture was saved and imported correctly
I cannot find multiple plate textures #
If the product description does not mention Multiple License Plate Combinations, check whether the .ytd still contains fisu_sign_1.
If it does, you may still be able to add extra combinations manually.
The texture quality looks wrong #
Make sure the texture was exported and re-imported correctly and use:
- DXT5
This is the recommended format for this type of texture edit.
